A public notice from the ape desk

Fuck Stonk Pairs

Three gorillas in blue suits and sunglasses. The one in the middle holds a Solana coin; the other two point at it.Official petitionSign the petitionc.org/C8FK764Nj7

Nobody likes them anymore. We want to go back to trading normally — one name, one direction, no second leg.

The indictment

Pairs did not make you smarter. They made you smaller.

01

Nobody likes them

The group chat went quiet. The pair that always worked stopped working. The only people still talking about pairs are the ones stuck in them.

02

They wrecked the tape

Two names. Two fills. Twice the fees. Half the conviction. You did not hedge risk — you diluted a view until it could not hurt you, or help you.

03

We want the old desk

One chart. One direction. A thesis you can say out loud without a correlation matrix. Trading, like it was before the second leg showed up.

Then versus the pairs era

Trading, before the second leg.

Normal

The old desk

  1. 01Pick a name.
  2. 02Size it. Live with it.
  3. 03Be wrong in public.
  4. 04One chart, one coffee.
  5. 05A thesis you can say out loud.

Void

Stonk pairs

  1. 01Pick two names and hope they hate each other.
  2. 02Split it until neither leg matters.
  3. 03Be “market neutral” and still lose.
  4. 04A correlation matrix and fourteen tabs.
  5. 05“What’s the pair?”

Articles of the desk

The manifesto

Adopted by the three apes, in suits, on the day nobody wanted the second leg anymore.

  1. I

    A pair is a cope.

If the trade only works when something else also works, you do not have a trade. You have a story about not wanting to be wrong.

  2. II

    Correlation is not a personality.

Two tickers moving together is weather. It is not insight. It is not edge. It is not a reason to split a position until neither side can pay rent.

  3. III

Fees love pairs. We do not.

Two entries, two exits, two spreads, twice the chance to fat-finger the hedge. The house always liked pairs more than the desk did.

  4. IV

    Normal trading is one name.

You pick it. You size it. You live with it. If you cannot say the thesis without naming a second ticker, sit down.

  5. V

The pair is not coming back.

This is not a rotation. This is a funeral. We are not “underweight pairs.” We are done.

Pair graveyard

Stamp them void.

These are the pairs that ate the tape. Click one. Watch it die. This is as close to a fill as they get from now on.

Appointed, not elected

The board

Three apes. One suit color. Zero interest in your hedge.

Gorilla in a blue suit and sunglasses, frowning, pointing to the right.

The Finger

Vito

Does not speak. Points at the pair until it leaves the book. Has never once been asked what the other leg is.

Gorilla in a blue suit smiling, holding a black Solana coin.

Evidence

The Chair

Holds the coin like exhibit A. Smiling because the hearing is over. The pair is not.

Gorilla in a blue suit and sunglasses, frowning, pointing to the left.

Also The Finger

Sal

Points from the other side so nobody can claim they missed it. Redundant on purpose. That is the point.

Standing orders

How to trade normally again

  1. 01

    One name.

If you need a second ticker to feel safe, you do not like the first one enough.

  2. 02

    One direction.

Long or short. Not both, not “relative,” not “the spread.” A view, or sit out.

  3. 03

    Say it out loud.

If the thesis dies when you remove the word pair, it was never a thesis.

  4. 04

    Close the extra tab.

The other chart is not research. It is a way to stall. Trade, or don’t.

The real signature is on the petition. Leave your handle here so the desk can keep the wall. I will never open another stonk pair. One name, one way, like a person.
